The Pioneer Village is a settlement which has an appearance of a town of the earlier times. It shows how the towns used to look during the period of 18 th century. This village was established in the year 1953. It was a dream project of Harold Warp who was a manufacturer in Minden. The pioneer village can also be termed as a museum as well. Here you will find various items related to the old world and they are not found now.

The Pioneer Village is actually a complex of 28 buildings. This museum cum village is constructed over a land area of 20 acres. The museum has a collection of around 50,000 items. Other than these 50,000 items there are a collection of items which belonged to the period from and after 1830. These items include earlier models of cars and airplanes, tractors, frontier buildings, farm implements as well as art collections also. The art collections include Ives prints, paintings of Jackson, collection of statues of Rogers and many more items. Other than these items there are also the Pony Express Station, the Frontier Fort, home made of sod, Iron Horse and many more things.






The Pioneer Village also has a toy store as well as a general store which sells items relating to the olden days.

The Pioneer Village is open all the year round. It is open during the Christmas as well as all other major holidays. During the summers, the Pioneer Village is opened from 8:00am to 6:00pm whereas during the winter it is open from 9:00am to 4:30pm. An entrance fee is charged. It is $5.00 for children aged 6-12 years whereas $9.50 for adults. For children below 5 years of age, entry is free.
