The Nebraska State Capitol is the third capitol building of the state of Nebraska. This building was constructed between the period of 1922 and 1932. The structure of the building was designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue. This building is not only famous because it is the state capitol but is also famous because the building has been inspired by the Gothic and Classical traditions. But the structure has certain innovations as well.

Though the building was designed by Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, the sculptural designs of the structure were given by the famous sculptor Lee Lawrie and the thematic consultant for the building was Hartley Burr Alexander who was actually a professor of Philosophy. When you visit Nebraska State Capitol you will find that there are elaborate iconographic designs on the walls. The walls also have various things written on it which includes laws from the Ten Commandments as well. You will also find the pictures of 10 great law givers of the world and some of them include Hammurabi, Minos, Moses, Akhnaton, Salon and others.

There is a golden dome which crowns the tower of Nebraska State Capitol. On the golden dome you will also find a sculpture called The Sower. This sculpture was done by Lee Lawrie. The dome is said to be related to the sun and the dome changes its color along with the change of the weather.

The interior design of the Nebraska State Capitol was done by Hildreth Meiere. She was a tile and mosaic designer from New York. The important things which are created by the designer include the motifs of wild and native animals as well as corn, wheat and sunflowers. All these has made the interiors of the building more attractive.
