Due to the abundance of rivers and lakes, there are a number of beaches in Nebraska. Adjacent to any river or lake, the beaches in Nebraska provide excellent facilities for fishing, picnic, swimming, boating, cleaning station and also as campgrounds. Some of the important beaches in Nebraska are: Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area, Lake McConaught State Recreation Area, Branched Oak Recreation Area and Bridgeport State Recreation Area. Lewis and Clark is the second largest lake of Nebraska. The main attraction of the Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area are the beautiful housekeeping cabins situated on the shore of Lewis and Clark Lake. The beeach also offers a beautiful scenic bauty of the lake and the bluffs. Camping facilities are also available at the Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area.

Lake McConaught State Recreation Area is the largest resrvoir with a n area of about 35,700 acres. Lake McConaught has now a spectacular range of visitors. This is a famous interpretive center with aquariums, a theater and intereactive diplays. It is also famous for sailing, boating, swimming, campgrounds and fish cleaning stations. The Lake McConaught State Recreation Area is infact, the second largest of all the beaches in Nebraska.
Branched Oak Recreation Area is situated adjacent to the Salt Valley Lakes near Lincoln and it covers an area of about 5,595 acres of land. There are two unsupervised beaches in adjacent to the Salt Valley Lake. The beah is famous for campgrounds, fish cleaning stations, boating and also as picnic area. Bridgeport Sttae Recreation Area is famous for picnicking, fishing, camping and swiiming. Boating at Center Beach is only allowed with prior permission.
